Pipefest Canada - 7 August 2010
Basel

Ottawa offers an open and welcoming environment to cultures from around the world, providing service in English, French, and a host of other languages. The city’s residents enjoy an enviable quality of life that is recognized around the world. The region's many settlements include the Scottish and Irish, and are well represented through events and groups that support the history and legacy of the Canadian Celts.

Pipefest Canada on Saturday, August 7 will support the Canadian Cancer Society and their goal is to raise $100 000 for the ongoing work of the society and is being organized by the Ottawa City Piping College.  Their contact email is collegeofpiping@sympatico.ca and they encourage any groups anywhere across Canada to contact them about their own local events to support this worthy charity.  They welcome any and all Ottawa area pipe bands and schools of highland dance to take part in the parade and performance on Parliament Hill which will culminate in a massed fling on the Hill.

More information on visiting Ottawa is available at www.ottawa.com.

We look forward to giving you a huge welcome to Pipefest Canada!
