About
Pipefest - Disclaimer
The aim of this website is to help promote Pipefest
events. The Pipefest logo is a registered trademark
and is used to help promote massed pipe band events
organised by different groups that are licensed to use
the Pipefest trademark. The Pipefest website and trademark
are owned by Epic Concepts Ltd, a company registered
in Scotland to promote and organise massed pipe band
events.
Trademark No: 2377783
Epic Concepts Ltd Reg No: 184364
Epic Concepts Ltd, have given
permission to a number of organisations to use the Pipefest
trademark for massed pipe band events and the company
uses the website to help promote these events. Epic
Concepts Ltd, also use the Pipefest website and branding
to promote their own massed pipe band events. In either
case the event organiser of each event will be clearly
marked on the event listing on the website.
The Pipefest website lists a number of events, some
of which may be organised for the purpose of helping
to raise funds for official charities. Please note that
not all events listed on the website are charity events.
Events may also be organised to celebrate a particular
day or to support a larger event. However, when the
event is specifically a charity event - this will be
shown on the listing within the website as, a 'charity
event'.
Epic Concepts Ltd, the owner of the website and trademark
are not a charity. Epic Concepts Ltd was set-up to organise
and promote large scale massed pipe band events. The
scale of these events and the number of stakeholders
involved required a legal trading entity and a company
was incorporated for this purpose.
When clearly marked as a 'charity event' - the main
aim is to help provide individuals and groups the opportunity
to help raise money directly for recognised charities
(ie Marie Curie Cancer Care). Funds raised by players
are collected by the charities involved - not by Epic
Concepts or Pipefest event organisers. The charities
involved may send sponsorship forms to players who have
opted in to help raise money for that particular charity.
All communications and transfer of fundraising money
between players and the recognised charities should
be made directly between these two parties - and not
the event organiser or Epic Concepts Ltd.
Depending on the scale of the event, Epic Concepts may
gain funding to help hosting events through corporate
or public sector support. In the same way that someone
organising a marathon may involve corporate sponsors
to help host the event - while participants may use
the event to help raise money for charity. It is important
to note that the event costs and the fundraising income
are two separate channels, which are kept separate.
The money raised by players for charity is sent by the
players directly to the charities involved. None of
the funds collected by the charities are used to pay
for the event organiser's costs.
