Ecosse à Montmartre 2015

Ecosse à Montmartre 2015, will start on Friday 6th Feb and run to Sunday 8th. Since 2001, every two years all Scots are welcome to the  Butte Montmartre to celebrate the friendship between Scotland and Montmartre on the occasion of the Six Nations rugby match between France and Scotland at the Stade de France.

Montmartre is well known for its painters (Place du Tertre next to sacré Coeur) and night life (famous Moulin Rouge). The atmosphere of the village, is very friendly and with many restaurants and cafe terraces, is the place to be during the weekend of the France v Scotland rugby match.

PROGRAMME :
Friday 6th February, 2015:

  • 6 :00 pm Pipes Bands concert in front of the town hall 18th arrondissement.
  • 6 :30 pm Scottish Thistle Night in Mairie of 18th arrondissement (on invitation only).
  • Welcome by Clan Mac Allais.
  • Speeches.
  • Danseuses du Moulin Rouge.
  • Pipes bands (Scotpipe, Dalhousie Pipe Band, 51st HD memorial inscrits à ce jour).
  • Scottish danse – Petits Poulbots – Whisky degsutation beer.
  • Buffet 23 :00 Scotpipe of Edinburgh on stage of Moulin Rouge.

Saturday 7th February, 2015:

  • 11:30 am 1:00 pm Parade from Sacré coeur to place des Abbesses.
  • 1:00 pm Lunch in the bassement of the church (free for pipers).
  • All day long, dégustation of scottish food au 52 rue des Abbesses.

Sunday 8th February, 2015:

  • 4:00 to 6:00 pm : Dégustation Spirit of Scotland in Commanderie du Clos Montmartre.
  • 8 :00 pm Diner in the restaurant « Les Tantes Jeanne ».

How to reach Montmartre:

By subway yo: Metro line 12 get off station ABBESSES or Line 2 get off station ANVERS. Follow the sign “Funiculaire” to reach the start of the parade on the top of the hill near Sacré Coeur.

For the band participating at the parade, as usual, you have a free buffet in the bassement of The Church Saint Jean de Montmartre (place des Abbesses).
