With the 700th Anniversary of the Battle of Bannockburn, the Commonwealth Games, Ryder Cup and other events Homecoming 2014, there are some great opportunities for pipe bands and individual players from all over the World to take part. Homecoming 2014 – you’re invited!

If you are planning a band or individual trip in 2014 and are looking for suitable events to perform at, please register your interest in Homecoming 2014. We are in discussions with a number of events to add a large scale massed pipe band element! Scotland will be a great year for piping and drumming in 2014.

St Andrew’s Night – Whisky Tasting – Hurricane Sandy Benefit

Calling all whisky fans - enjoy St Andrew’s Night with some of the finest single malt whiskies and live Bluegrass music! The informal whisky tasting event will take place at Summerhall – Edinburgh’s buzzing creative hub for the arts. The ticket price includes whisky, oatcakes and smoked salmon. At the door you will receive a warm welcome, whisky glass and tasting notes.

Live music will be provided by Mairi Orr and her band who offer foot-tapping bluegrass and Americana with a Scottish twist. The line-up is 5-string banjo, dobro, mandolin, guitar and double bass.

Thank you for your support – helping replace bagpipes destroyed by Hurricane Sandy
The evening supports pipe bands in the USA worst hit by Hurricane Sandy. There are over 120 pipe bands in New York and New Jersey. Many band members have lost instruments and kit. Our aim is to send over 6-8 brand new bagpipes to replace those destroyed. Each pipe band who receives a new set of bagpipes will be listed on Pipefest.com, Tartanweek.com and Whisky-drinker.com alongside the fundraising total of this event.

Hurricane Sandy World Pipes & Drums Appeal – is an open group for pipe bands and individual players who want to help contribute to the ongoing appeal to raise funds for victims of Hurricane Sandy.

If you would like to take part in a fundraiser or consider organizing a fundraising event, please sign-up and join the appeal.

Taking part will help raise funds for a number of officially recognized charities, supporting the worse hit areas and provide a message support to victims of Hurricane Sandy.

By collaborating with other bands and players we can create more impact, widening the appeal and support.
