Dear Players,

Welcome to the Pipefest Japan. On behalf of everyone involved thank you for visiting the Pipefest website. In order to try to encourage as many players as possible, I have kept the tune list for this parade very simple. There will inevitably be other opportunities for visiting groups of players to perform at other events during the period, the Japanese love their piping and you can be assured of a warm and very respectful welcome wherever you perform.

In 2003 the Kirkwall City Pipe Band from Orkney, Scotland, flew half way across the World to perform at the Kansai Highland Games. I was privileged to lead the band on that visit and can assure you of the genuine warmth and hospitality of the Japanese people throughout our visit. We played in Kobe, Hiroshima, Shingu, and Osaka. We played at Highland Games, schools, and at the Armistice ceremony. Everywhere we went resulted in more invitations to play at more events!

Register your interest and it will ensure that you are kept up-to-date with all developments. Thank you again for looking at our website I hope to see you, and your friends, in October 2008.

Yours Aye
David Miller
